Svayamsiddha- "Beauty Within Roots"

Is not just a brand but an identity and voice as a whole. A long craved desire of showcasing the glorious side of Indian hand looms, culture and heritage, led this Mother-Daughters trio carve out the brand. An active social worker and an admirer of Indian hand looms herself, Sunita longed to publicize her intense love for Indian lifestyle products. Following her legacy, the daughter Anushka (a lifestyle blogger) and the daughter-in-law Swati, marched in to outline the long rooted desire.

We, at Svayamsiddha, aim to recreate the beauty of our Indian culture and heritage in the most beautiful, modern and acceptable way. Each product has been designed with utmost respect and enough care to be loved and accepted by anyone and everyone. Bagh print, also popularly known as Block print, is a traditional Indian handicraft which has it's recognition all over the world. It has it's roots in Sindh (Currently in Pakistan), later moving to Marwar (Rajasthan) and then to Manvar (Madhya Pradesh). This major shifts were happening because of migration of the craftsmen. The vibes of Bagh printing have witnessed a lot of change over time and which has set the current style very fresh and unique. The craftsmen migrated from Manavar to the neighboring town of Bagh situated in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh and hence Bagh has always been associated with this printing style. Bagh printing involves wooden blocks carved into different shapes mostly marigold flower, mushroom, leheriya (waves), keri (mango), dhaari (stripes) and a lot more.

Bagh printing is all done manually, involving several painstaking processes of repeated washing, dyeing, and printing. The beauty of this fabric is also lies in the use of natural vegetable dyes, which brings out beautiful colors.

Bagh printing not just adorns cotton but also silk fabric, cotton-silk, tussar, maheshwari, chanderi, jute, chiffon and crepe. One can find a pool of Bagh printed stoles, sarees, dupattas, bed sheets, curtains, pillow covers, cushion covers, mats, table runners and rugs in the market reflecting the class and sophistication.

We, at Svayam Siddha, believes in bringing out the rich traditions of our country with our personal touch to it. The entire "Baghini" collection reflects the classic tale of bagh culture and the divine craftsmanship of skilled locals.
