STRIPE-LICIOUS!!

Hello everyone, and welcome to What The World Says!
Ours is a fast moving society, each month, each week, in fact each day, thrills me up with something new. In this post I am hanging on to a classic trend which is very romantically close to me.
STRIPES are and have always been one of the most versatile trends and also one of the very few that have been in fashion since a very long time. Stripes represent symmetry and it is this quality of this trend that keeps it in all the time.
'Stripes go with everything' and I couldn't agree more with this statement. Whether it is to dress up a plain outfit or to brighten up a dull corner of your room, stripes is always a good option.
And the best thing about Stripes is that it has a vast scope & variety- Monochrome, two-toned, colorful, horizontal, vertical, slanted, diagonal. There are ample options to choose from for every mood.
Stripes have always been in trend but has specifically taken the fashion world by storm since Spring' 2017. Be it bags, shoes, jackets, tops, dresses or accessories; Stripes are everywhere.
For the first look, I have used a blue & white striped dress from Vero Moda because after Black & white, it's blue and white that is the major monochromatic tone used in stripes.
I'm also wearing multicolored striped long earnings from H&M to glam up the look because stripes need not only be in monochrome.
I have finished the look with neon pink sandals from Forever New to add all the color drama.
For makeup, I stuck with the theme & went for a double winged eyeliner to create a tiny stripe in my wings & opted for bright colored eye make up to bust the myth that a striped look can only be monochromatic.
For the second look, I have used a navy and white striped high waisted flared pants and paired it with a sheer white shirt with a black stripe in the middle from 'Colors'. I finished this look with black & white striped pumps from H&M.
The hair is slicked down in a chick ponytail & I wore Mac's Retro shade 'Ruby woo' on my lips to top the makeup, because red lips can never go wrong.
From these two looks I wanted to demonstrate how stripes can be worn differently to create such different looks whether it's classy or casual, fun or sophisticated.
Even in the Decor section, Stripes trend is a blessing. It has its legacy from late regimes.
Wallpapers, cushions, lamps, frames and many more come in the variety of stripes.
Striped lamps & crockery are also very much in trend right now.
It amazes me how different type of stripes can serve different purposes and create different styles, like-
Thin stripes provide a formal look while thick goes on the casual side.
Vertical stripes make you appear thinner & taller and so they are mostly used in pants, whereas horizontal stripes give an illusion of broader and grander look.
Therefore it is used in decor usually in cushions, rugs and quilts to provide with the look of a bigger and much spacious category.
Beaches and pool sides are greatly adorned by stripes, as they give a cool vibe and definitely makes the space larger and gorgeous.
Nautical stripes are just so in now-a-days, specially in bags and off-shoulder tops.
Scarves are really important when it comes to wardrobe essentials for men and women. Striped scarves makes a statement in ones attire and attesting the famous Harry Potter's scarf here, validate my point.
Here, I'd like to quote Michael Kors - "Stripes are like color, you can turn the volume up or down - whether you wear it head to toe or mixed with a solid."
So it's safe to say that trends may come & go but, stripes are here to stay. And if you haven't played with them already, go ahead and wear stripes of every stripe!
