They say Good Times Happen With Good People!
I could not agree more when I was invited for a meet up at one of the pretty places of Indore- "Good Old Days- Effotel Hotel"!
True to its name, this place carries a charm that makes you spend some really good times with your loved ones. So, Team Effotel along with Indore Bloggers Association & Indori Zayka, organised this evening meet for some amazing bloggers.

If I talk about the place as a whole, it is a small task to figure out its way in the hotel. But once you find its door, it is a small den in itself. Relatively smaller in space, this bar-lounge has managed to add some pep in the aura with some artistic installation.

This place has a lot of drama which is seen through its decked up walls, ambient lights, and the color Red.
I should probably shut down my interior stylist's soul & start writing about the special menu they prepared for us.
So after a small briefing about the dishes & drinks by the Chef Thapa & his team, we were served an array of some delicious delicacies.
FOOD SERVINGS:
FILO WRAP

This tasted to me more or less like Quesadilla. This wrap had a wonton sheet filled with mozzarella cheese. The main ingredients were 3 kinds of bell peppers, variety of spices. This deep fried crispy wrap was served by super delicious saffron sauce.
CHARMOULA CRUSTED COTTAGE CHEESE:

The grilled cottage cheese slices were beautifully prepared with spinach & mushroom stuffing. I did not taste this serving as I do not eat cottage cheese but I definitely tasted the tomato-mango sauce. The serving of herbed rice with sauteed vegetables tasted really nice. It looked super pretty to my eyes.
MEXICAN RED KIDNEY BEAN & CORN QUESADILLA:

I am a huge quesadilla fan, and with kidney beans as stuffing, works the best for me. These flat tortilla with the Mexican stuffing tasted delicious and were served with Tomato salsa sauce, which did not taste quite authentic to me.
RUBIYAN MESHAWAI:

The review about this dish is completely on the basis of my fellow bloggers POV . As per them, this was the best dish served in the entire evening. The prawns were really authentic and carried a special aroma with it. Must try, if you drop into this place.
SOUVLAKI:

Brilliantly marinated chicken made in skewers tasted amazing with bell peppers. These grilled chicken pieces were baked to perfection with paprika and had egg whites & mayo over it. Pita bread were served along to give that authentic Greek touch.
CRUMBLED FISH:

Garlic, lemon never tasted so delicious over something than this deep fried fish. The coating of bread crumbs were so perfect, made it really crispy outside but was immensely soft inside. This was my favorite pick as I had it in my plate more than twice.
BEVERAGES
The place "Good Old Days", is a bar/lounge primarily, which offers a vivid variety of Mocktails & Cocktails.

We were welcomed with many colorful drinks beautifully placed on a table for us.
MARTINI:

This classic gin based cocktail has managed to become one of the popular alcoholic drink over the years. Vermouth is also an ingredient of this drink and there are varieties of martini like dry, dirty, perfect & many others.
This is usually garnished with olives & lemon peel/slices.
MUD SLICE:

This mocktail can be loved by all kinds of age group, from kids to young to adults. I can say this because of the ingredients used in this drink- vanilla ice cream, cocoa powder, & variety of syrup. I could not ignore the glazing done by chocolate syrup in and out of the glass. First, It gave me an impression of choco cold coffee, but tasted nothing like that.
STRAWBERRY MOJITO:

What comes to mind first when think about Mojito is the abundance of mint leaves. This rum based cocktail is one of the refreshing drinks with the presence of lemons as well. The twist happens with the addition of strawberry syrup & freshly cut berries, with lots of fizz. This drink worked for me & of course belongs to my list of Must Haves.
GIMLET:

This cocktail is made up of strong dash of Gin with spot of lime, soda, and lots of ice. The firs sip tasted real strong to me, it was all Gin in my mouth. But lately, after little of stirring, it became diluted and tasted authentic. A shout out for all the Gin Lovers out there.
SHIRLEY TEMPLE:

This mocktail have become quite popular now-a-days, and is being on my table tops. This traditional drink is a unique combination of ginger ale, splash of grenadine and cherries/strawberries. The recipe is substituted by lemon soda or white aerated drinks, depending on the preferences.
VIRGIN COLADA:

The classic drinks is served both as cocktail & mocktail. We were served Virgin Colada, which was a mocktail. The infusion of coconut cream, pineapple juice, whipping cream, lime juice makes it a perfect legendary drink. It did not impress me much as I am not a coconut fan and it tasted to me more or less like coconut crush.
MINT SUMMER DREAM:

This extremely sweet mocktail is a blend of almost everything. By this I mean it includes orange juice, mint leaves, orange juice, rose syrup, and loads of ice. Dash of lemonade & chunks of lime completes the drink as whole and appears really colorful.
COSMOPOLITAN:

This is the best and my favorite cocktail out of all. This colorful drink swept me off firstly because of its name which is undeniably very chic. It is a mix of vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, and freshly squeezed or sweetened lime juice. This never fails when it comes to breezing out yourself.

It was a blissful evening as I had some amazing company of my fellow bloggers. I really appreciate the efforts of the entire management team including Ms. Nida Khan, who is a dear friend and an enthusiast, who made sure of all the privileges and comfort.
XOXO..
