UN BON REPAS- A GOOD MEAL

Over 2000 Chefs, with 2000 Menus, on 5 Continents came together on 21 March, to honour the merits of French cuisines. The basic motives behind this legacy, that started in 2015, are to promote French tourism, colors of French cuisines with pride.
FREITO, a French-themed, Paris-inspired roof-top cafe, intends to provide the ecstatic "FRENCH" feeling. The food, service and atmosphere all comes together to create that 'Paris' experience with an Eiffel Tower replica.
Chef Amit Pamnani, who has over 20 years of experience as a Chef in India and Abroad, was a part of this delicious endeavor and represented Central India.
Freito was the most apt location for this celebration, so the Chef and Freito's team treated us in French style.
The menu for the day was quite interesting and all the dishes served, have now become the part of their regular menu.
It was a menu of very selected French dishes which were delicious and stomach filling. Our food journey here started with:
AMUSE BOUCHE in French means "Mouth Amuser" and in this category Chef introduced
SHOT OF TOMATO ESSENCE

It was a refreshing cold soup that had cherry tomatoes as the main ingredients. Overnight prepared, tomatoes are hung in a cloth and because of its dripping, it gets a transparent look with a tinch of red tomatoes. It had a perfect essence of basil, garlic, fennel and was indeed a refreshing welcome.
ENTREE- FRENCH ONION TART

Ah! My love for caramelized onions was heightened after this starter. It was such a treat to eat a Baked puff sheet with a dressing of caramelized onions, mustard dressing and fine crispy sage.
It was like the thinnest pizza to me with more of puff sheet taste.
Totally loved it.
PLATS- BAKED SPINACH AND MUSHROOM CREPE

A traditional vegetarian dish took me on an amazing ride of taste. What a perfect blend of healthy spinach and mushroom wrapped in layer and romancing with cheese. It took it fractions of second to get melted in my mouth. I was indeed speechless post its encounter and hence this is going to top my "Must-Have" list.
CHICKEN FRICASSE MAMAN BLANC

A signature dish of Chef Raymond Blanc, name kept in the memory of his mother, has a preparation of white wine, vinegar and herbs. Beautifully made and served with a side of Fondant potato and French beans. For me, the potato drenched in the thin gravy was the "Took-Me-Away" part because of the way it was cooked- Crispy outside and Tender inside. The French Beans were little raw to me, needed to be cooked more but had an authentic taste. The after taste of this French plate was really nice and lasted a bit.
DESSERT- CHOCOLATE DELICE

The fun part always comes in the end. It was one serving, for which I made a second call. Such beauty of delicate chocolate custard laid on the base of soft biscuits, nuts and caramelized almonds. The chocolate setting was really smooth and the union moment of biscuit and chocolate, in the mouth, was out of the world.

I really want to appreciate the efforts of the Chef Amit Pamnani and the entire Freito's team for such hospitality and delicious food service. I would rate this French Diner Evening above the really Satisfied scale and yes it has managed to make a good place in my list of Tasty encounter spots.
